In a dramatic reversal following yesterday’s strong rally, the NEPSE index fell sharply today, closing 35.09 points lower. The market not only lost momentum in terms of the index but also saw a significant drop in overall turnover.

NEPSE opened at 2,761.96, hit an intraday high of 2,765.91, and slipped to a low of 2,723.82 before closing at 2,725.71.

Market Turnover Down

The total market turnover stood at Rs. 8.17 billion, a notable decline from Rs. 11.19 billion recorded on the previous trading day.

Out of 321 traded scrips, 50 advanced, while 198 declined—highlighting broad-based weakness across sectors.

Sectoral Performance

All sub-indices ended in negative territory except Hydropower, which managed to inch up by 0.15%—making it the only sector to close in green.
