Kathmandu–The Nepal German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NGCCI) and Kantipur City College (KCC), Purbanchal University, have entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

The MoU was formally signed today at a ceremony held in NGCCI Secretariat Naxal in Kathmandu by Santosh Chandra Kunwar, President of NGCCI and Dr. Pralhad Karki, President of Kantipur City College.

The partnership aims to enhance research, skill development, and employability of KCC students through sustained collaboration with Nepal’s German-linked and leading corporate sector.

The MoU focuses on joint research and studies on trade, investment, economics, and business issues; facilitation of Senior Expert Services (SES) from Germany for guest lectures, workshops, research consultancy, and curriculum development at KCC; provision of internship and traineeship opportunities for KCC students and fresh graduates in NGCCI member companies; organization of joint seminars, conferences, webinars, and industry-academia roundtables; and knowledge sharing and resource collaboration.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Santosh Chandra Kunwar, President of NGCCI, said:  "This partnership marks a significant step towards making Nepalese graduates more industry-ready. By connecting KCC’s academic excellence with German-standard expertise and our member companies, we aim to create real career pathways and high-quality research relevant to Nepal’s economy." Dr. Pralhad Karki, President of Kantipur City College, stated:  "We are extremely pleased to partner with NGCCI. This MoU will allow our students to gain practical exposure, international expert guidance, and better employment opportunities. It perfectly aligns with our vision of producing job-ready, globally competent graduates." The program was attended by Shubhashish Thapaliya, Treasurer of NGCCI; Gopal Das Manandhar, Vice Treasurer; Dr. Gopal Prasad Tiwari, Advisor to NGCCI; as well as senior officials of Kantipur City College.
