At PTM 2025, Nepal also promoted the Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM), Nepal’s premier international travel and trade show, which will return for its 6th edition from June 2–4, 2025, in Kathmandu.
During the official opening ceremony, PATA HQ Chair Peter Semone remarked, “It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to PATA Travel Mart 2025 here in the vibrant city of Bangkok, Thailand. This week, we come together to connect, collaborate, and collectively shape the future of travel and tourism in the Asia Pacific region.”
Reflecting on Nepal’s participation, Suresh Singh Budal, CEO of the PATA Nepal Chapter, said: “Our participation in PTM alongside NTB after six years was highly effective and meaningful, especially as we celebrate 50 years of public–private partnership through PATA in Nepal since the chapter’s inception in 1975. This year, our focus was on positioning Nepal as a destination for lifetime experiences in wellness, luxury, and community-based tourism — going beyond the well-known offerings of nature, culture, and adventure.”
Suman Ghimire, Senior Manager of the Nepal Tourism Board, also emphasized the significance of Nepal’s collective presence: “Nepal’s participation at PTM 2025 has been both impactful and rewarding, reinforcing our identity as a year-round Himalayan destination. The joint presence of NTB, PATA Nepal Chapter, Nepal Airlines, and our private sector partners ensured Nepal spoke with one strong and unified voice in the global tourism marketplace.”
Praising the collaboration, Ramesh Luintel, President of Skal International Nepal, said: “The coordination between NTB and PATA Nepal was commendable, creating a strong and attractive presence for Nepal. As an exhibitor, I found the engagements and appointments with buyers both exciting and promising.”
With the successful conclusion of PTM 2025, the next PATA Travel Mart will be hosted at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) in Sarawak, Malaysia, from August 18–20, 2026.
