Kathmandu: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) rebounded on Thursday, gaining 23.87 points (0.85%) to close at 2,820.44, recovering from the previous session’s sharp decline of 46.78 points.
The benchmark index opened at 2,800.06 and moved between an intraday high of 2,830.27 and a low of 2,781.00 during the trading session. Trading activity remained strong as 41,686,405 shares of 335 companies were traded through 130,015 transactions, generating a total turnover of Rs. 14.55 Arba. The market capitalization stood at Rs. 47.44 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 16.22 Kharba.
National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC) led the turnover chart with transactions worth Rs. 67.79 Crores, with the stock closing at Rs. 290.10 per share.
Among individual stocks, Salapa Bikas Bank Limited (SABBL) and Reliance Spinning Mills Limited (RSML) recorded the highest gains of the day, both hitting the 10% upper circuit limit.
On the downside, Kumari Sabal Yojana (KSY) posted the steepest decline, falling 3.72% during the session.
Sector-wise, the Banking Sub-Index recorded the highest gain, rising 2.02%, while the Others Sub-Index registered the largest decline of 0.74%.
