Kathmandu, November 10 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a sharp fall of 4.15% today, closing at 2,561.94 points, marking the third consecutive day of decline. Yesterday, the index had edged down by 30.02 %, signaling continued selling pressure across most sectors.
Despite the downturn, 91 listed companies managed to close in the green, while 151 saw declines, and 11 remained unchanged.
The market’s turnover stood at NPR 4,514,408,236.34, nearly steady compared to NPR 4,561,004,599.90 yesterday. A total of 40,591 transactions were recorded. The total market capitalization reached NPR 4,291,269,977,505.77, while the float market capitalization stood at NPR 1,453,326,871,386.15.
Sectoral Performance
While most sectors ended lower, the Hotel and Tourism Index showed resilience, gaining 101.98 points (1.64%), followed by a 21.17-point rise in the Trading sub-index.
On the downside, the Finance Index registered the biggest loss, falling 0.75%, followed by the Development Bank Index (-0.63%) and the Banking Index (-0.60%).
Turnover and Volume Leaders
The highest turnover for the day was posted by NRN Infrastructure & Development Limited, with NPR 488.89 million.
In terms of trading volume, Union Hydropower Limited (UNHPL) led the chart, with 493,543 shares traded.
