Dhaka - Nepal successfully showcased its rich tourism diversity and lifetime travel experiences at the 13th Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) 2025, held in Dhaka from October 30 to November 1. The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in collaboration with the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), led a strong delegation accompanied by ten travel trade companies from Nepal.
As one of Bangladesh’s largest tourism platforms, the fair brought together tourism stakeholders from across the region to foster cross-border cooperation and strengthen business networking opportunities.
The Nepal Pavilion was among the most vibrant attractions at the event, drawing continuous crowds throughout the three days. Visitors, including tour operators, travelers, and media representatives, showed keen interest in exploring Nepal’s wide range of tourism offerings — from the majestic Himalayas and UNESCO-listed heritage sites to adventure and cultural experiences.
Representatives from the NTB and Nepali exhibitors engaged with visitors, providing detailed information about travel routes, trekking destinations, and tourism packages. Promotional materials and souvenirs were distributed, receiving overwhelming interest and appreciation from Bangladeshi visitors.
On the sidelines of the fair, NTB, with support from the Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka and NATTA, organized a B2B Networking Event on October 30 under the theme “Connecting the Travel-Trade Industries of Nepal and Bangladesh.”
The event gathered over 100 Bangladeshi tour operators and tourism professionals to explore collaborative opportunities. The program began with a welcome by Mr. Ghanshyam Ghimire, Vice President of NATTA, followed by a presentation by Mr. Sunil Sharma, Officiating Director at NTB, who highlighted Nepal as a destination for “immersive, transformative, and lifetime experiences.”
Addressing the event, His Excellency Mr. Ghanshyam Bhandari, Ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh, emphasized the deep-rooted cultural and historical ties between the two nations and the potential for enhanced tourism exchange.
Special guests Mr. Md. Rafeuzzaman, President of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), and Mr. Md. Taslim Amin (Shovan), Director (Trade & Fair), TOAB, were honored for their contributions to regional tourism cooperation.
The evening featured Nepali cultural performances by Nepali students in Dhaka, coordinated by the Embassy of Nepal, reflecting the cultural connection between the two nations. A raffle draw of exclusive holiday packages sponsored by Nepali exhibitors added excitement to the event.
The NTB-led delegation, comprising 16 representatives from tour operators, travel agencies, and hotels, collectively promoted Nepal’s key tourism segments — adventure, nature, culture, and emerging niche experiences — positioning Nepal as an ideal short-haul destination for Bangladeshi travelers.
Nepal’s participation in BTTF 2025 proved highly successful, generating significant media coverage and business engagement. The strong visitor response reaffirmed Bangladesh’s growing potential as a key source market for Nepal.
Events like BTTF, NTB stated, provide an essential platform to strengthen regional cooperation, enhance Nepal’s visibility in South Asia, and promote the country as a destination of lifetime experiences.
